Mariam has +18 years of experience in finance, investment, and risk management across most economic sectors. Mariam is a member of the League of East African Directors. She serves on the Boards of Vison Group, Buganda Land Board (also the chairperson for the Audit, Risk & Compliance committee), the investment committee of the $90m Energy Access Relief Fund at SIMA funds, a global Social Impact Investment and Advisory firm and a Director at Muslim Hands Foundation, a charity-based organization. Previously, she has served as a Partner at SIMA Funds, Head of Credit Risk Management and Head Credit approval at dfcu bank, and she also held managerial roles at Barclays bank, with exposure across EMEA. Mariam holds a Bachelor’s in Statistics and Economics, an MBA, and the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation. She is an IFC-certified adult trainer.
