{"id":3590,"date":"2019-11-21T17:46:44","date_gmt":"2019-11-21T17:46:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hostalitecloud.com\/era\/?p=3590"},"modified":"2025-02-04T17:49:11","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T17:49:11","slug":"era-rolls-out-procurement-and-disposal-guidelines-for-electricity-supply-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hostalitecloud.com\/era\/era-rolls-out-procurement-and-disposal-guidelines-for-electricity-supply-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"ERA Rolls Out Procurement and Disposal Guidelines For Electricity Supply Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) on 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2018, issued the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hostalitecloud.com\/era\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20170531_GDL_ElectricityProcurementDisposalGuidelines_FIN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electricity Procurement and Disposal Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0to Companies Licensed to Generate, Transmit, and Distribute Electricity in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>The Authority developed and issued the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hostalitecloud.com\/era\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20170531_GDL_ElectricityProcurementDisposalGuidelines_FIN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0to provide a framework for undertaking Procurement and Disposal operations by Licensees in the Electricity Supply Industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Guidelines will provide minimum practicing standards required of Licensees\u2019 Procurement and Disposal operations; help Licensees to develop their own Procurement Manuals that reflect the scale and scope of their operations as well as provide a leveled platform for investment approval and verification, to ensure Value-for-Money for investments recovered through the Electricity Tariffs approved by the Authority.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the<a href=\"https:\/\/hostalitecloud.com\/era\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20170531_GDL_ElectricityProcurementDisposalGuidelines_FIN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0Guidelines<\/a>, the Licensees are expected to submit to ERA their Procurement Manuals for approval and implementation by February 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) on 8th\u00a0November 2018, issued the\u00a0Electricity Procurement and Disposal Guidelines\u00a0to Companies Licensed to Generate, Transmit, and Distribute Electricity in Uganda.
