Uniterrupted access to safe and clean water is only part of TeamUp\u2019s the story. We go a step further by making handwashing easier, more accessible, and more affordable\u00a0through locally made, portable\u00a0handwashing stations.<\/p>

With Whave Solutions taking lead, TeamUp introduced\u00a0user-friendly handwashing stations\u00a0that are tailored to community needs. These stations are:<\/p>

  • Portable, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use in homes.<\/li>
  • Multi-user, with up to\u00a0four taps\u00a0to allow simultaneous handwashing (ideal for\u00a0schools,\u00a0clinics, and\u00a0community gatherings).<\/li>
  • Equipped with\u00a0drain buckets, making it possible to\u00a0reuse wastewater\u00a0for cleaning or\u00a0watering gardens, promoting water conservation and smart hygiene.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    To make these handwashing stations widely available and sustainable, TeamUp launched an innovative\u00a0Hand-Wash Station (HWS) franchise model\u00a0 which creates\u00a0opportunities for youth.<\/p>

    Over\u00a0120 young people\u00a0have been trained both\u00a0online and in-person in\u00a0rural entrepreneurship, product marketing, and sales. These youth now serve as\u00a0franchise agents, bringing affordable, high-quality handwashing stations directly to:.<\/p>

    • Primary and secondary schools<\/li>
    • Health facilities<\/li>
    • Local businesses and community centers<\/li><\/ul>

      The result is\u00a0improved personal hygiene,\u00a0reduced disease transmission, and\u00a0better health outcomes especially in high-traffic areas like schools and health centers.<\/p>

      The introduction of the HWS franchise model marked a\u00a0significant shift\u00a0in the TeamUp program, moving beyond traditional WASH approaches to integrate\u00a0rural youth entrepreneurship. This pivot came in response to real challenges youth face: unemployment, limited economic opportunities, and the need for locally adapted hygiene solutions during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>
