Lobby, Advocacy and Policy Working Group

Purpose

The purpose of the Lobby and Advocacy Committee is to develop and implement strategies to influence public policy, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder attitudes that impact the microfinance sector. The committee serves as the voice of the forum in engaging government, regulators, and other relevant institutions.

Objectives

Advocate for policies and regulations that support the growth and sustainability of microfinance.
Identify and analyze key policy issues affecting the sector.
Facilitate dialogue between the microfinance sector and relevant authorities.
Build strategic alliances with advocacy partners, civil society, and development agencies.
Promote awareness on the role and impact of microfinance in poverty alleviation and financial inclusion.

Scope of Work

Draft position papers, policy briefs, and recommendations on relevant legislative or regulatory matters.
Organize advocacy campaigns, forums, and stakeholder meetings.
Monitor policy developments and respond to proposed legislation or regulations.
Representing MFF in national and regional advocacy initiatives or consultations.
Coordinate with legal and research teams for evidence-based advocacy.
