Research and Capacity Building Working Group

Purpose

The Capacity Building and Innovations Committee is mandated to identify, design, coordinate, and oversee initiatives that strengthen the institutional capacity of the financialservice providers and other critical stakeholders in the sector and to promote innovative practices geared towards enhancing financial inclusion.

Objectives

Assess the capacity needs of the sector and recommend appropriate interventions
Promote best practices and innovations that improve outreach, efficiency, and customer impact.
Facilitate access to technical assistance, training and knowledge resources.
Foster partnerships with training institutions, fintech companies and development partners.
Establish a well-coordinated capacity building framework for the sector to ensure quality of capacity building interventions.

Scope of Work

Conduct needs assessments and capacity gap analysis in the sector.
Support development of curriculums relevant to the sector and e-learning platforms.
Promote the piloting and scaling of innovative financial products and services.
Establish a framework that supports the documentation and dissemination of case studies, lessons learned, and success stories.
Facilitate innovation challenges, hackathons, or forums to incubate new ideas.
Advice on policy and regulatory frameworks that support innovation, recognition of regulatory sandboxes and capacity development.
